Traditionally, foiling was accomplished by ordering a physical die, imprinting a stock, and running foil over the imprint. This creates a great effect, and we still love to foil-stamp jobs. However - die and set-up costs haven't always made traditional foil the most economic choice. That's why we are proud to offer Raised Digital Foil as an embellishment option for your next custom project. Digital foil is a specialty finishing (post-printing) process that highlights selected artwork with a raised, metallic look, similar to traditional foil stamping with embossing.
What happens is a layer of foil is laid over the top of Raised UV, which creates a similar effect to traditional foil stamping with embossing - without the impression showing through the backside. We think it has even more shine than traditional foil & embossing, while it is raised around the same height. Without a physical die for foiling/embossing, custom presentation folders with Digital Foil are perfect for high-end, short-run print marketing materials.
It uses the same real foil that we use on our conventional foil presses; it is currently offered in Gold, Silver, Rose Gold, Holographic, Red, Green, and Blue Metallic, with more to come soon!
